Embodied Yoga Teacher Training

Deepen Your Practice, Share the Gift of Yoga with Others

200-Hour RYT Training by the Joy Collective in Sioux Falls, South Dakota

Immersive in-person experiences, monthly weekend training, and flexible virtual components

You’ve been going to yoga classes for a while now, and lately you’ve found you’re looking for something more.

Yoga has been such a gift in your life, maybe you feel called to teach it to others. You’d love to learn how to instruct classes with an alignment-based focus. And you really want to create a safe space for others to learn. A space that is inclusive, supportive, and an authentic reflection of the depth and richness yoga has to offer.

Or maybe, you aren’t looking to teach others in a formal way, but you’d love to develop your own personal practice and be a source of knowledge about yoga.

Maybe you want to dive into the classic forms more, learning more about anatomy, physiology and the biomechanics of the poses. You recognize that yoga is more than a snappy trend, and you’d love to delve into its philosophy and history as a way to deepen your own relationship with this ancient practice.

Whatever the case, Embodied Yoga Teacher Training offers you the perfect opportunity to deepen and develop your own practice, and to share the gift of yoga with others. Completion of this program allows graduates to register with Yoga Alliance® as a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) at the 200-hour level.

Introducing Embodied Yoga Teacher Training

Sioux Falls Cohort Begins August 2025

Led by Sarah Joy Lindemulder

Guest Teacher: Jenn Fast

Teacher’s Assistant: Sierra McKechnie

Dates: August 2025 - December 2025

The Embodied Yoga Teacher Training is a comprehensive training covering yoga techniques, (like asana, pranayama, and meditation,) anatomy and physiology, history and philosophy, and professional essentials like teaching methodologies, ethics, and practicums.

The 200-hour training is accessibly spread out over a five-month period and takes place approximately one weekend a month, so you can more easily fit this transformative experience into your life.

Who Is This Training For?

This training is for you if you want to teach yoga to others. Completion of this program allows graduates to register with Yoga Alliance® as a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) at the 200-hour level.

It is also for you if you:

  • want to develop your own personal practice of alignment-based yoga

  • desire to learn about the rich, beautiful history and philosophy of yoga

  • wish to understand the anatomy and physiology of the various poses

  • feel called to hone and deepen your commitment to the yogic practices that you love so much

  • want to gather with a group of like-minded individuals, journeying closer to a holistic practice that nurtures not only the body but also the mind and spirit

Who is This Training Not For?

Embodied Yoga Teacher Training is a fantastic program; and it’s not necessarily the right fit for everyone at every time in their life.

This might not be the right time for you to enroll if you are:

  • unable to attend the training sessions (see dates below)

  • looking at the training as substitute for therapy

  • only interested in learning to do the poses perfectly and aren’t drawn to the deeper elements of yoga

Not Sure if This is For You?

That’s that’s perfectly fine, and pretty normal in fact!

If this is where you find yourself, reach out. You can text or email me and we’ll chat. We will talk about what you’re looking for and see if the training would be a good fit.

What Students Have to Say

“My experience was amazing and exactly what I was hoping for and more. I not only learned the fundamentals of teaching alignment-based yoga, but learned about the different lineages and foundational principles and history of yoga. Everything that I learned will allow me to offer a nourishing, safe, and fulfilling experience for any future students I have the opportunity of guiding through their practice. I would 100% recommend training with Sarah at the Joy Collective.”

—Maren E as posted on Yoga Alliance

“Teaching yoga felt like a natural opportunity to deepen my practice and pedagogy.

I was surprised and excited to learn more about the history and evolution of yoga, but really enjoyed connecting with yoga's fascinating traditions. I would recommend the Joy Collective because Sarah and my cohort members were a wonderful group of thoughtful and engaged folks who were excited to grow and connect through yoga.”

—Former Student Embodied Yoga Teacher Training

“I was led to do a Yoga Teacher Training with Sarah because I wanted to integrate more than a fitness understanding of yoga. I wanted to learn all the things past Asana.

I was surprised by the like-minded relationships I left the training with. I grew my community, and I've never left something intending to keep in touch with the people in my training!

Sarah has poured so much into this embodied training, and you'll gain a great community!”

Her ability to guide with clarity and purpose is matched by her deep commitment to ensuring every student understands the material fully. Her dedication to providing ample resources and fostering a space where students feel confident and ready to grow is truly remarkable.”

—Nevada Roughton

“Sarah has put together a comprehensive curriculum with everything a new teacher needs to know. Her alignment-based approach and non-dualistic teachings took my practice and understanding of yoga to a whole new level. She brings yoga down from the pedestal of aesthetic perfection and makes it accessible to real people with different body types, experiences, and needs.

Her perspective on yoga is about showing up as you are and learning to move in a way that’s healthy, sustainable, and supportive for your body.”
