Discover Joy Collective Yoga: Unite Strength & Community

Where Ancient Practice Meets Prairie Spirit in Downtown Sioux Falls.

Create space to return to your wholeness.

Here along the Big Sioux River, in the heart of downtown Sioux Falls, Joy Collective Yoga Studio creates a welcoming space where every body can experience the transformative benefits of yoga. Our studio at 315 N Main Avenue is more than just a place to exercise – it's a supportive community where people of all ages, sizes, abilities, and backgrounds come together to move, breathe, and grow stronger.

We believe yoga isn't about perfect poses or impossible pretzel shapes. It's about learning to move with awareness, finding stability and ease in your own unique body, and developing practices that support your wellbeing for life. Our experienced teachers offer clear, precise instruction with modifications for all bodies and abilities. Whether you're touching your toes or can barely see them, whether you're 18 or 80, whether you're recovering from injury or training for a marathon – there's a place for you here.

Class Styles for “Every Body”

  • Alignment-Based Yoga

    Foundation of our Practice

In these sacred sessions, we explore yoga's forms with reverent precision. Like ancient temple builders who placed each stone with careful intention, we learn to align body, breath, and spirit with wisdom passed down through generations. Perfect for both beginners seeking solid ground and experienced practitioners deepening their roots.

Best for: All levels seeking mindful, detailed instruction

  • Yin Yoga

    Journey to the Deep

Enter the quiet depths where transformation whispers. In Yin, we hold poses for 3-5 minutes, allowing time to melt through layers of tension and story. Like water slowly carving canyon walls, this practice shapes us through gentle persistence.

Best for: Those seeking deep release and meditation through the body

  • Pranayama Breathwork

The Art and Science of Breathing

In the ancient yoga tradition, breath (prana) is understood as the river of life flowing through us. In these sessions, we learn to navigate this river with greater awareness and skill, exploring the profound connection between breath, body, and consciousness. Just as the prairie winds shape our landscape, the breath shapes our inner terrain.

Best for: Both beginners and experienced practitioners seeking to develop their relationship with breath.

  • Restorative

    Sacred Rest

In a world that rarely stops moving, Restorative Yoga is a sanctuary of stillness. Using multiple props to fully support the body, we create conditions for deep healing. Like being held in earth's embrace, this practice invites complete letting go.

Best for: Stress relief, healing, nervous system regulation

  • Vinyasa

    Dancing with Breath

Vinyasa is a moving prayer, where breath and motion become one river. Drawing from alignment principles while adding graceful transitions, these classes create a dynamic meditation through mindful movement.

Best for: Those seeking fluid movement and dynamic practice

  • Ashtanga

    Climb the Mountain

Following the ancient system codified by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, these classes maintain the tradition's rigor while offering modifications for modern bodies. Like climbing a sacred mountain, this practice reveals new vistas through dedicated effort.

Best for: Dedicated practitioners seeking traditional practice
